Tubbs hill is visible in the distance across Lake Coeur d'Alene, just to the right of center. One of the most recognizable landmarks in Coeur d'Alene. Although building was originally allowed on Tubbs, only a few houses were built before the hill was protected from further development. The hill covers about 120 acres of forested land and is the largest park in Coeur d'Alene. It has a two mile interpretive trail and offers some hidden beaches for a more private swimming experience compared to the city beaches. Views from the top of the hill are spectacular, allowing you to see much of Lake Coeur d'Alene, the Spokane River, and the city itself. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, especially on Independence Day when many people climb the front side of the hill to seek out the best view of Coeur d'Alene's annual fireworks show.
