This is an identical scene to last week's Wallpaper Wednesday photo, and just a day or two apart. Although last week's photo came chronologically after this week's, I decided I didn't want to think about snow again when the weather is just warming up and we are really starting to see the beginnings of what should be a great summer. Thus, this image of the rural road again, but without the snow!
Located northwest of Coeur d'Alene, this road is on the Rathdrum Prairie, and like much of the area, sits above the Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer. This aquifer is designated by the Environmental Protection Agency as a sole source aquifer, meaning it provides at least 50% of the water consumed over the aquifer. This covers more than 300 square miles of area, and provides water to nearly 400,000 people.
