Jogging the Centennial Trail

This image was captured during the last moments of sunset on an autumn day in 2011. The North Idaho Centennial Trail is used year-round, and winds past some of the best views in the area, especially in the area where this photo was taken, along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Especially during the summer, you will find people out biking, walking, and running the trail from dawn to dusk. Many people take their dogs out to exercise with them on the trail.

The Centennial trail starts at Higgins Point and continues all the way to the Washington border. As you go from east to west on the trail, you will travel along the lakeshore, through one of Coeur d'Alene's older neighborhoods, past the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, McEuen Park, and the CdA Resort. From there you will again be along the lakeshore as you go through City Park and continue toward the mouth of the Spokane River along the edge of the North Idaho College Campus. The trail continues along the river under the Highway 95 Bridge into the Riverstone area, including Riverstone Park. You can get a great tour of the best of Coeur d'Alene, just by traveling the Centennial Trail.
