This crane dominated Coeur d'Alene's western skyline for months during the construction of the Riverstone development. Many years ago the area where Riverstone now sits was a thriving lumber mill. After the mill was closed, the land sat virtually unused except for the railroad running through it. In the early 2000's, the land began to be developed and now contains the Centennial Trail running along the Spokane river, several condos, a hotel, movie theater, and beautifully landscaped park, along with several restaurants and many retail spaces. In this striking sunset photo the crane looms over the silhouette of the building that now houses Riverstone's movie theater.
